Subject: Absolutely SOLID
Wow! Holy crap! I've been into U-Melt hardcore for a long time now, and I've always known about this show, and had listened to it a few times, but never, like... REALLY heard what was happening.

This show is incredible!

First off, the SOUND QUALITY is OUTSTANDING!!! Great job on this one guys, its fucking killer. Secondly, the playing is just super tight. Really good, solid playing in everything. Its just too bad they couldn't play a full show here.

Prism moves through its swirling self nicely, with Rob busting some sweet melodic licks. Green Paper Society does its thing very well, although the segue into Escape is a bit botched. However, it is readily apparent that it was just a result of some miscommunication between everybody, because Zac goes right into the opening chords, and then everybody else is like "Oh shit, alright haha" and eventually comes in.

Escape is great though; perfectly played, and its unique jam is stellar. One of the first few readings of Clear Light is absolutely fantastic; the playing is super on point, and the middle jam rears its ferocious, ugly head just like it should. But the real goods is in the ending happy trance-rave jam. The sound expands out into a wide open space, and Zac and Rob begin to mimic and interweave their lines together. Its actually really cool to hear.

And then another newer song in Perfect World. A great moment here is in the song's vocal climax of "as we sing..... our songggggggg" because their vocal harmonies are just PERFECT. I was actually really impressed, and it made me smile.

This song doesn't have a jam on it, but whenever they would tack Red Star onto the end of it, they would always jam into it, and a cool little bit would evolve, as is the case here. I always wished they would have expanded on this, and jammed the transition a little more, a lot like how they did on 3/3/07 with Disillusion -> Red Star.

Red Star is great, packed with energy. Evil dance party at the end.

Definitely check this show out. The sound is great, and the playing is super fucking solid. This is a great show to download if you're curious about the band and haven't really heard much. While it by NO means encompasses their entire sonic spectrum, it gives a great glimpse into what they did, with their crazy mesh of prog rock, sick vocal harmonies, wayyyy creative/unique/inventive melodic constructs/jams, and their untz dance party.

Get this!!!
